| ACTIONS: What activities have
been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the ten years of the Decade? If you already made a
report in 2005, your information from 2005 will be included in the 2010
report.
 | Globalnet
action is focused on empowering leaders of culture of peace and
sustainability through connecting meaningful propjects, programs and
public policies around the world. Meetings and web exchanges are the
main tools used.

Globalnet started the decade with a global
meeting in Geneva "The Future of Our Children", sponsored by UNESCO and
Geneva University. In 2002, another global meeting was held in São
Paulo "Building a Planetary Culture: Peace and Global Citizenship".
Continental meetings follow that in Bangkok/Asia, Nazareth/Middle East,
Accra/Africa, Findhorn/Europe, Washington/North America, and Iguassu
Falls/South America, from 2003-2005. From 2006 until now, the emphasis
of Globalnet work was on local meetings, local networking and
celebrations of World Days ( Earth, Environment, Culture of Peace and
Human Rights) in cooperation with many partner organizations around the
globe.

In 2006 organized sessions in the World Peace Forum -
Vancouver, and participate in a Reserach Project on Conflict Resolution
Networks in ICAR- George Mason University - Arlington.

In 2007 contributed with reports to the Global Alliance for Ministries of Peace III World Summit in Japan.

 Along
2008 and 2009 continued calling for celebrations in World Days, gave
support to formation of Peace Councils and local Peace Networks. In
2009's celebration of Earth Day launched the World Conference on
Culture of Peace and Sustainability that will be happening this year,
2010.
In all of these events and actions Globalnet was
articulating leaders from NGOs, Public and Private Sectors, involved
with meaningful projects, programs and public policies on Education and
Culture of Peace.
 |
| PROGRESS: Has your organization
seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain
of action and in your constituency during the second half of the
Decade?
 | Yes.
We can see municipalities and even national governments adopting
Culture of Peace principles and developing concrete policies in that
direction. Three countries already have formal Ministries of Peace>
Nepal (Peace and Reconstruction); Salomon Island; Costa Rica (Justice
and Peace).
Civil Society foruns and programs are present in
communication organizations, religious groups, education, health and
environment. Encouraging programs in Justice (mediation, conflict
resolution, youth and family conferencing).
 A lot more of
interchange, people getting to know people, specially youth through
exchange programs and greatly throu internet. These person to person
relationships crossing borders, cultures, religions, ages will create
more intimacy and a more concrete sense for world citizenship and
cooperation.
 |
| OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?

of Peace Movement will move forward as soon as the pratical solutions
exercized on projects and programs along the decade gain respectability
and effectivity throu public policies and continous NGOs programs in
each possible locality.
 |
| PLANS: What new engagements are
planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to
promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?
 | For
2010 we are working on the World Conference on Culture of Peace and
Sustainability in two main fronts: local conferences in cities, towns,
communities, and a central event focus on Citizenship and Global
Governance. The World Conference intent is to promote a global exercise
of articulated action, cooperation, complementarity with the eyes on
everyday needs and resources available to children and youth.
 |
| GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??
 | To
gain strength the Global Movement for a Culture of Peace can intensify
the cooperation among NGOs, local governments and international
