 | In
year 2000 the Ribbon International gave Ribbons to each US Congress
person for the COP year.  Events and exhibits have been organized
promoting the Decade for the COP.  Over 1,000 Ribbons were created
in Monterrey, Mexico for the UNESCO Culture Conference (please see
website: theribboninternational.org, Latin American section)The photos
attached, two of the Ribbons created in AZ, events organized by Marlene
De-Fillipis with the COP labeled on the Ribbon panels.

   |
| PROGRESS: Has your organization
seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain
of action and in your constituency during the second half of the
Decade?
 | Our
guess is yes, using the creative process in creating Ribbon panels an
putting a picture on a cloth panel (Justine Merritt the Founder of the
Ribbon, named it the New Ribbon of Tangible HOPE), exhibiting the
panels helps people to realize the process for a Culture of Peace
versus a Culture of War.
 |
| OBSTACLES: Has your organization faced any obstacles to implementing the culture of peace and nonviolence? If so, what were they?
 | None
 |
| PLANS: What new engagements are
planned by your organization in the short, medium and long term to
promote a culture of peace and nonviolence?
 | Keep the terminology on our website and promote it.
 |
| GLOBAL MOVEMENT: How do you think the culture of peace and nonviolence could be strengthened and supported at the world level??
 | The COP terminology "Culture of Peace" is good compared to "Culture of Violence" or "Culture of War."
